An aerial porter assigned to the 8th Expeditionary Air Mobility Squadron uses a forklift to load a ground-based operational surveillance system (GBOSS) onto a C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 167th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron at an undisclosed location within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Aug 7, 2024. The GBOSS is an expeditionary, ground-based, self-contained, multi-spectral sensor-oriented, persistent surveillance system used to greatly enhance situational awareness to counter physical security threats.
