Commander, U.S. Second Fleet, Vice Adm. Doug Perry, dines with the Navy's newest recruits at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, during Chicago Navy Week 2024, Aug. 8. Chicago Navy Week has returned for the fifth time since 2005, bringing the U.S. Navy's outreach efforts to the city. The week will include various activities to connect Chicago residents with the Navy. These activities will include community engagement events, volunteer work, educational programs, and public events involving more than 75 Sailors across the city, all emphasizing the Navy's commitment to community and service.
