A firefighter helmet and uniform are displayed during a memorial for the 1950 U.S. Air Force Boeing B-29 Superfortress crash at Travis Air Force Base, California, Aug. 6, 2024. On Aug. 5, 1950, a B-29 crashed resulting in 19 casualties, one of which was Brig. Gen. Robert F. Travis, and another five of which were firefighters.
