United States Army Garrison Japan hosted their Bon Odori festival to celebrate the more than 500-year-old Japanese tradition of honoring the spirits of one's ancestors with the surrounding Zama community. The garrison and has been hosting this festival with the residents of Zama for over 65 years. Leaders from the Japanese community as well as senior military leaders from the U.S. Army tenant units shared the stage donning yakutas to perform the Bon Odori (bon dance) to further deepen our relationship as good neighbors.
