A CH-47 Chinook helicopter assigned to the Detachment 1, Bravo Co. 3-328th Aviation Battalion, Michigan Army National Guard, prepares to load a M777A2 howitzer from the Michigan Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 119th Field Artillery Regiment, for sling load operations training during Exercise Northern Strike 24-2 at Camp Grayling, Mich, Aug. 4, 2024. Sling load operations allows the rapid movement of equipment by helicopter from one location to another. NS24-2, one of the Department of Defense's largest reserve component readiness exercises, is scheduled to take place at Michigan's National All Domain Warfighting Center (NADWC) from Aug. 3-17, 2024. Over 6,300 participants from 32 states and territories and several international participants will converge at the NADWC.
