Coast Guard members, family, and friends of Petty Officer 1st Class Phoenix Hanna gathered at Naval Base Ventura County for a paddle-out ceremony to honor and remember the late aviation survival technician July 24, 2024.

Hanna, an AST assigned to Coast Guard Air Station Ventura, passed away June 18, 2024 due to injuries sustained while surfing off duty at one of the local beaches at a naval base north of Los Angeles. U.S. Coast Guard photo by Petty Officer 1st Class John Huggins.
