    Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti

Military working dog (MWD), Nelly, and her handler, Master-at-Arms Seaman Addison Ruddick, assigned to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, search a tugboat during vetting operations at the Port of Djibouti, June 29, 2024.

CLDJ port operations department ensures force protection through a coordinated vetting process alongside host nation port workers and CLDJ assets. This coordinated effort ensures that all foreign vessels are deemed secure before they are allowed to approach U.S. ships visiting Djibouti.

Camp Lemonnier is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied and partner nation forces to be where they are needed to ensure security and protect U.S. interests. The installation provides world-class support for service members, transient U.S. assets and 36 local tenant commands. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Christopher Thomas)
