U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Brian Nicholsen, a Storekeeper assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Waesche (WMSL-751), applies a tourniquet during a tactical combat casualty care course aboard the Waesche, in the South China Sea, June 12, 2024. U.S. Coast Guardsmen aboard the Waesche attended the course to get certified on their ability to apply basic level causality care in case of emergencies. Waesche is the second U.S. Coast Guard National Security Cutter deployed to the Indo-Pacific in 2024.
