240606-N-MC925-1178 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 6, 2024) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Kobie Pinkins, from Middle Town, N.Y., acts as a safety observer while two F/A-18F Super Hornets, assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 41, are transported from the hangar bay to the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Abraham Lincoln, flagship of Carrier Strike Group Three, is underway conducting integrated exercises to bolster strike group readiness and capability in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
