(June 6, 2024) Chief Aviation Ordnanceman Joshua Jackson and Hull Technician Fireman Natalie Macculloch assist Aviation Electronics Technician 1st Class Dustin Sheets with a self-contained breathing apparatus as part of an 8010 major fire drill on the pier next to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), June 6. The drill is a limited training team validation exercise to test the ship’s ability to extinguish a fire in an industrial environment and the crew’s ability to integrate with commands and organizations outside of the ship.
