Fourteen U.S. Air Force aircraft are participating in the 80th anniversary celebration of D-Day and have begun transporting Airmen, Soldiers and equipment at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport, France, May 30, 2024. The commemoration of D-Day honors not only the bravery of American service members, but also the contributions and sacrifices of our Allied nations, including the heroism of French resistance fighters.
