YOKOHAMA, Japan (May 22, 2024) - Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Deannas Gonzales of Navy Public Affairs Support Element Japan and Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Ckjay Laforteza of USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19)bag debris at the Yokohama General Foreign Cemetery Cleanup Cleanup May 22, 2024 in Yokohama, Japan. Founded in 1854 where one of Commodore Matthew C. Perry's Sailors was first buried, the five acre site is the final resting place for more than 4,200 people including many U.S., British, and French servicemembers. Gonzales and Laforteza were two of 37 Sailors from six commands joined five members from the Veterans of Foreign Wars in the annual cleanup. (U.S. Navy photo by James Kimber)
