Marines assigned to Headquarters Company, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, joined children at the Child Development Center to celebrate Earth Day by planting new flowers, April 22, on the playground.
Each year, the Department of the Navy selects the theme and for 2024, it is “Communities, Critical Infrastructure and Climate Action.”
“It is important for individuals of all ages to consider the daily impact our behaviors have on the environment and the choices we make to help preserve it,” said Col. Matthew J. McKinney, commanding officer, MCLB Albany. “Our command volunteers always strive to do their part to ensure their living, training and work environments are beautified and help our natural resources thrive.”
