Dignitaries, members of 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Polish special forces, 6th Airborne Brigade, gather for the renaming of Camp Miron, May 17, 2024 near Krakow Poland.

Retired Lt. General Edward Gruszka, Polish Armed Forces operational commander speaks to media after a ceremony renaming Camp Miron Military Complex near Krakow, Poland May 17, 2024. The camp is being named in honor of Staff Warrant Officer Mirosław “Miron” Łucki, an operator with the Polish special forces unit Jednostka Wojskowa Komandosów (JKW), who died in Afghanistan while supporting NATO operations. Łucki is the lone JWK operator who died supporting operations that involved 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). The United States, U.S. Forces, and particularly Special Operations Command Europe enjoy a long-term, generational, and enduring relationship with Polish special forces. Shared training between nations builds strong and strategic relationships, improves interoperability, and demonstrates both nations’ ability to rapidly deploy combat credible forces for timely and coordinated response when needed.
