A U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 1/8, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), observes an AH-1Z Viper with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (Reinforced), 24th MEU during a simulated strait transit aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), as a part of Composite Unit Training Exercise (COMPTUEX), while underway in the Atlantic Ocean, May 9, 2024. The Wasp (WSP) Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) – 24th MEU is conducting COMPTUEX, their final at-sea certification exercise under the evaluation of Carrier Strike Group 4 and Expeditionary Operations Group.
