U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Pablo Medina, the 959th Medical Director of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Program, leads a hyperbaric chamber course encompassing in-depth didactics and practical hands-on training at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, May 3, 2024. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge of the EEHS system, including the set-up, transport, and loading procedures. Airmen of the 354th Medical Group set up a portable decompression sickness chamber during a training exercise simulating an emergency for a patient requiring oxygen therapy, utilizing the hyperbaric stretcher both in place and on board the 168th Wing KC-135 Stratotanker. The 354th Medical Group collaborated with the 168th Operations Group to train on the Emergency Evacuation Chamber portable decompression sickness chamber.
