U.S. Air Force Col. James Reed assumes command of the 165th Medical Group, 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air National Guard, from Col. Sheldon Wilson, commander, 165th Airlift Wing, on May 3, 2024 at the 165th Airlift Wing in Savannah, Georgia. As commander, Reed is now responsible for optimizing performance and ensuring medical readiness of human capital for over 1400 Airmen assigned to the 165th Airlift Wing, and its geographically separated units including the 224th Joint Communications Squadron and the 117th Air Control Squadron.
