Approximately 75 kids and 45 parents attended the event, which gave parents who work for the Pittsburgh District the opportunity for their children to learn about the wide range of occupations and work that exist within USACE.
Park rangers and maintenance workers at Shenango hosted the event along with the help of volunteers who organized activities that included a dam tour, building bat boxes, learning about bridge structures though plastic straw models, water quality biology and a “touch a truck” segment that included heavy equipment machinery.
