Chief Petty Officer Warren Rivera, a crew member assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Confidence (WMEC 619), retired Rear Adm. James Underwood, 15th commanding officer of Confidence, and Cmdr. Thomas Martin, current commanding officer of Confidence, display the Coast Guard Unit Commendation pennant, the highest peacetime award that can be given to military commands in the U.S. Coast Guard, after it was presented to the crew, May 2, 2024, in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Confidence was recognized for 58 years of service to the nation in the presence of current and former crew members, family, and friends before it was placed in commission, special status.
