YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 16, 2024) – Rear Adm. Giancalo Ciappina, director of Naval Aviation at the Italian Navy General Staff and Commander of the Italian Fleet Air Arm, is greeted by Cmdr. Jonathon Greenburg, executive officer, U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), on the pier of Blue Ridge, April 16. As the 7th Fleet flag ship, Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and routinely operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
