Maj. James Cox, theater security cooperation desk officer with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South, explains the cooperative planning process in order to find mutual training objectives with the Comando de Infantería de Marina de Armada Paraguaya (Paraguayan Marine Infantry), during a staff planning working group April 9, 2024, in Asunción, Paraguay. The two Marine Corps discussed how to strengthen security in the western hemisphere by enhancing interoperability and coordination between the United States and Paraguay, deterring potential threats from transnational criminal organizations, facilitating information sharing, fostering regional stability, and improving responses to humanitarian crises and disasters.
