A Philippine Air Force PZL W-3 Sokol releases rose petals over Mt. Samat to honor the fallen during a wreath-laying ceremony for the 82nd Araw ng Kagitingan, or Day of Valor, in Bataan, Philippines, April 9, 2024. The Day of Valor is a national observance in the Philippines that commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II. U.S. service members participating in Balikatan 24 attended the event to stand together in honoring the fallen. BK 24 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
