    I Marine Expeditionary Force

    A group of children rush to the finish line in a rice sack race during the Fallujah Sports Day in Fallujah, Iraq. Nearly 400 men and boys shared sportsmanship and camaraderie at a newly renovated schoolyard in Apr. 3, 2008. The sports day offered local residents a safe and organized event that included volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and a bodybuilding demonstration. All participants received awards and recognition at the end of the afternoon. U.S. Marines from 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment based out of Camp Pendleton, Calif., have worked with Fallujah officials to create a safe, prosperous environment for the last six months.
