A United States Marine Corps CH-46E Sea Knight lifts off in the background while another waits on the Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, flight line, Aug. 14, 2000. The USMC CH-46E's, assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron One Six Two (HMM-162), Marine Corps Air Station, New River, North Carolina, have just been hot pit refueled by a USMC KC-130. The hot pit refueling, where one or more aircraft refuel with their engines running, occurred as the helicopters transited the area while deploying to Naval Air Station Atlanta, Georgia.
