Moldovan 2nd Lt. Iulian Ciocan, platoon leader, EOD Platoon, 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, practices inserting a Nasopharyngeal Airway on a medical patient care mannequin during Tactical Casualty Combat Life Saver Class on Mar. 8 in Chisinau, Moldova. Nearly 90 percent of combat fatalities occur before a casualty reaches a medical treatment facility, therefore, the prehospital phase of care is needed to focus on reducing the number of combat deaths. This joint course taught by 30th Medical Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command is utilized to enhance the Moldovan Military's De-Mining capabilities and ensure each of our Moldovan Allies can perform lifesaving techniques in an emergency setting.
