The Ohio Army National Guard armory in Alliance, Ohio is being memorialized in honor of Capt. Fred A. Kochli, who was born in Alliance in 1891. He enlisted in the local Ohio National Guard unit in 1911, and served at the Mexican Border and during World War I. After the war, Kochli was heavily involved in veterans issues. He died in 1967.
