First Lts. Dan Eckelbe and Jonathan Spencer, 20th Bomb Squadron B-52H Stratofortress pilots, exchange information during a Red Flag exercise at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Jan. 31, 2013. During the exercise, Spencer's crew was replaced by Eckelbe's while the B-52 engines were still running. The exercises are held quarterly to ensure pilots learn to maximize the capabilities of the B-52 alongside other aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Vernon Young Jr.)
