Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) Professor Christian Ramthun instructs a Joint Planning Process course for the Royal Thai 1st Special Forces Division and Special Operations Detachment - Pacific (SOD-P) special operations forces (SOF) staff officers and Soldiers before Joint Exercise Cobra Gold 24 in Lopburi, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 22, 2024. JSOU prepares SOF professionals to address strategic and operational challenges, arming them with the ability to think through problems with knowledge, insight, and foresight. SOD-P provides trained, prepared, and equipped augmentation to U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) and U.S. Special Operations Command Pacific. Cobra Gold, now in its 43rd iteration, is the largest joint exercise in mainland Asia and a concrete example of the strong alliance and strategic relationship between Thailand and the United States.
