U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Beachmaster Unit 1 and the Amphibious Construction Battalion use a submersible matting system during an experimentation event during Project Convergence - Capstone 4 at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 29, 2024. Submersible matting creates a stable roadway system across an area to bridge the gap between low and high tide on the shoreline.
