U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Michael J. Borgschulte, commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, congratulates the 3rd MAW band on winning the Colonel George S. Howard Citation of Musical Excellence for Military Concert Bands award at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Jan. 29, 2024. The 3rd MAW Band received their second Col. George S. Howard Citation of Musical Excellence for Military Concert Bands, which recognizes active duty and reserve military concert bands that have demonstrated significant high standards of musical excellence in concert. The 3rd MAW band is directed by Chief Warrant Officer 2 Alex J. Panos. The band was awarded its first citation in 1994 under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Roxanne M. Haskill.
