Capable) (MEU(SOC)) Maritime Special Purpose Force conduct combat rubber raiding craft preparations aboard the Wasp class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD-5), Mediterranean sea, Feb. 8, 2024. The 26th MEU(SOC) routinely conducts amphibious operations to maintain maritime security and support freedom of navigation in international waters. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, with the embarked 26th MEU(SOC), is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., Allied and partner interests.
