International Military Students from Canada and Saudi Arabia, prepare to disassemble a diesel engine during a Diesel Systems Overhaul and Maintenance (DSOM) course, at Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School facilities located on the Stennis Space Center, Jan. 18, 2024. NAVSCIATTS is committed to interoperability by empowering our allies and partners with top-tier training and education.
DSOM is an eight-week course designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and skills required of a basic diesel engine technician. Students will test their knowledge in preventative maintenance and service repair procedures, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly.
NAVSCIATTS is a security cooperation schoolhouse operating under Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Command in support of foreign security assistance and geographic combatant commanders' theater security cooperation priorities. The international training command directly supports NSW's efforts to support collaborative training programs with Partner Nation forces to ensure that shared expertise bolsters regional and global security.
