1st Sgt. William "Billy" F. Westmoreland retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years. He served at various duty stations, including tours in Vietnam, Korea and Moscow. He also served as a drill instructor for Company K, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. He received numerous awards for performing his duties beyond expectations, including the Bronze Star with "V" device for Valor and the Purple Heart during his time in Vietnam.
