    U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/1, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, wrap detonating cord in duct tape during an urban sustainment training exercise on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 5, 2024. Combat engineers attached to BLT 1/1 taught Marines proper procedures for making and employing breaching charges in urban environments. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
