Tatsumi Tanaka, mayor, Etajima City, delivers his speech to those in attendance at the 83rd Ordnance Battalion's New Year's Reception at the Harbor club Jan. 17. Tanaka thanked the 83rd Ordnance for conducting safe ammunitions operations as well as enhancing friendships with the local community. Tanaka also highlighted Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's message during his first interview after assuming the position this past December. Tanaka reiterated the importance of the United States and Japan alliance.
