Anne Neuberger, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology, congratulates U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Alex Paredes, a supply officer with Marine Innovation Unit, during the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Awards ceremony at the Mark Center in Arlington, Virginia on December 7, 2023. Paredes, a Pueblo, Colorado native, received an honorable mention award at the ceremony for his work with 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division from 2021–2023. Paredes successfully incorporated open architecture machine learning algorithms and bespoke logistics regression models into the command’s budget forecast activities, which yielded incredible, accurate insight to the commander.
