    NORFOLK (Dec. 4, 2023) Capt. Columbia was a steam powered Yacht owned by the New York Yacht Club that the Navy acquired, renamed to Wasp, and commissioned as an armed vessel in 1898. Wasp is in Naval Station Norfolk participating in Phibron/MEU Integration (PMINT) during Integrated Phase inspections and assessments in preparation for a scheduled future deployment.
