JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO – FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Nov. 30, 2023) – Capt. Walter D. Brafford, commander, Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), served as the speaker for the Senior Leader’s Forum at the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute’s (DMRTI) Joint Medical Operations Course (JMOC) Basic. The course, which is open to Department of Defense (DoD) medical department personnel assigned to combatant commanders, service headquarters, joint task forces, joint organizations, and other DoD medical departments, provides students with the tools to effectively provide doctrinally sound, operationally integrated leadership in Joint Health Service Support (HSS) operations while meeting current mission requirements. Brafford, who also serves as the 40th Director of the Navy Dental Corps, spoke on the importance of joint operations moving forward and Navy Medicine Expeditionary (EXMEDS) platforms. NMFSC develops and delivers integrated education and training that produces operational medical experts to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority.
