Nepali soldiers use a circular saw to cut into a training building to reach casualties trapped inside by a simulated earthquake event at the Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue demonstration during the 2023 Nepal Disaster Response Exercise & Exchange (DREE) "Unity of Effort VI" in Chitwan, Nepal, Nov. 10, 2023. The 2023 Nepal DREE is part of the continued multilateral engagement of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the Government of Nepal (GON). The DREE is designed to grow and reinforce capacity through Table-Top Exercises (TTXs) and Field Technical Exercises (FTXs) that simulate reality, identify procedural gaps, and practice techniques required for efficient and collaborative response.
