U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Jonathon Ruiz assigned to 618th Medical Comapany runs around a track to begin the 2023 Best Medic Competition Nov. 12, 2023, USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea. The Best Medic Competition is a two-soldier team competition that challenges U.S. Army medics in intense, continuous, and realistic operational environments. The events include a physical fitness assessment, written test, combat water survival swim test, foot march, stress shoots utilizing both the M17 Pistol and the M4A1 Carbine, an obstacle course negotiation, a chemical biological radiological nuclear lane, a tactical combat casualty care lane, a prolonged field care lane, both day and night land navigation, a buddy run and an award ceremony.
