Staff Sgt. Sam Negus, a Gainesville, Texas, native, who serves as a mortuary affairs specialist with the 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, performs during open mic night at the Mud House, a coffee shop on Camp Taji that was built and run by volunteers. He was the first performer at the Mud House when open mic night began. The 407th BSB is scheduled to return home later this month. "The thing I will take away from here most of all is fellowship," said Negus. "Through this deployment, it's been really hard; especially dealing with my fallen comrades and being away from loved ones. Coming together as a whole with all the Soldiers, it was a lot easier to get by with the deployment."
