U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/8, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a veteran of BLT 1/8, step off for the run during the opening ceremony for the Beirut Memorial Run at the Lejeune Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Oct. 20, 2023. The Beirut Memorial Run is an annual event that honors the Marines that died in the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon on Oct. 23, 1983.
