U.S. Air Force Col. Julie Gaulin, 386th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, passes the guidon to Col. Adeleke Ekundayo, incoming 386th Expeditionary Air Base Group commander, during an assumption of command ceremony at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Oct. 3, 2023. The Expeditionary Air Base Group consists of nine squadrons: Civil Engineering, Communications, Contracting, Force Support, Logistics Readiness, Maintenance, Medical, Operational Support and Security Forces. This construct empowers Airmen at all ranks to be more adaptive, agile, survivable, and to move at a faster pace, ensuring Ali Al Salem continues to be a power projection platform in the region.
