Norwood accepted the award on behalf of Pedro 11 Flight and Sheepdog assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, 347th Rescue Group, from the 23rd Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. Pedro 11 Flight and the pararescue team, call sign, Sheepdog, distinguished themselves during their assignment to Camp Lemonnier, Republic of Djibouti. During extreme and unfortunate circumstances, Pedro 11 Flight conducted a sequential airland in dense vegetation with limited fuel while Sheepdog administered lifesaving treatment to patients in both helicopters.
