A U.S. flag rests on top of a transfer case during an honorable carry ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Sept. 28, 2023. This was one of three transfer cases containing possible osseous material from World War II. A four-person team recovered the material from the Republic of Kiribati, and transferred it to DPAA laboratories for scientific analysis and possible identification.
