Soldiers from the Texas National Guard participated in the 'Governor's 20' Sept. 22-24, 2023 at Camp Swift, near Bastrop, TX.. The competition included four categories: pistol, rifle, machine gun and sniper live-fire. The top competitors earned the right to wear the coveted 'Governor's 20' tab on their uniform. The tab is a state-level marksmanship award for the top 20 shooters in the state. It is awarded to the top eight pistol marksmen, two snipers, eight riflemen, and two machine gunners.
