Dr. Candice Hatcher-Solis, 711th Human Performance Wing research scientist, is a research biological scientist for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Nov. 7, 2022, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Hatcher-Solis is the team lead for Neurobiology of Cognitive Performance. “There are so many different environments Airmen are in,” Hatcher-Solis said. “You have the arctic environment with extreme cold to dry, desert heat. You have Airmen in high-performance aircraft. All these different environments can have effects on the body, so there’s a lot of research that needs to be done, and is ongoing, to sustain and enhance performance for all Airmen.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
