U.S. Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) begin an in-scenario press conference during Joint Task Force Exercise (JTFEX) 23 on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 14, 2023. JTFEX is a staff exercise that continues II MEF’s progress toward being a newly certified JTF command element, while educating the MEF Staff on both broad and specialized joint doctrine in order to improve II MEF’s warfighting abilities and effectively execute a wide range of potential missions as a JTF-C HQ.
