Egyptian, U.S., and multiple partner nation’s flags stand together as desert winds prominently display each country’s colors in unison at Exercise Bright Star 2023, Sept. 6, in Mohamed Naguib Base, Egypt. Exercise BRIGHT STAR 23 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) command-post exercise, field training exercise and senior leader seminar, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt along with other partner nations. Participation strengthens military-to-military partnerships between U.S. forces and our Egyptian partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, as well as other participating nations. Approximately 1500 U.S. military service members will participate in BRIGHT STAR, focusing on regional security and cooperation, while promoting interoperability in conventional and irregular warfare scenarios.
