U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Caleb Limon, a light armored vehicle technician, with 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts a tactical reposition during Super Garuda Shield 2023 at Dodiklatpur Rindam, East Java, Indonesia, Sept. 1, 2023. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and the America Amphibious Ready Group team provides a flexible and mobile force that influences events abroad, contributes to regional stability, and expands our military advantage at sea with the confidence and resolve to win any future contest. Super Garuda Shield 2023 (SGS23) is an annual exercise that has significantly grown in scope and size since 2009. SGS2023 is the second consecutive time this exercise has grown into a combined and joint event, highlighting the seven participating and 12 observing nations' commitment to partnership and a free and open indo-pacific.
